It's so big!
Well, I received my Mueller Eraticator yesterday, and it's a HUGE scope! It makes my CZ-452 look kinda puny, and dwarfs the APV I already have. I'm almost concerned that the rifle won't make weight for Hunter class.
And many thanks to Mary for getting those rings to me this week.

It's a 452 Style. I also have a 452 Silhouette.
There's about 3/16 inch between the bottom of the objective bell and the top of the barrel (thank the stars for tapered barrels). I can use the bikini cover with no problem at all.
I was more concerned about bolt clearance. It's close, but the bolt does clear.
One problem I do have is that I can't move the scope far enough back for my taste (I had the same problem with the APV). I've got the back ring mounted as far back on the receiver as I can get it, and scope is mounted as far back in the rings as I can get it. I wear glasses, but not while shooting, but I may try it though to see if that'll fix the scope positioning issue. I have some BKL offset rings on backorder from Brownells but I don't know when they're gonna be shipped.
As far as weight is concerned, the Style weighs 5-15, and the Eraticator weighs 1-6 (or 1-4, depending on where you get your info), but the Style I have has a metal magazine well, so if it's not already over weight, it's REAL close (within an ounce?). I have a plastic magazine well on the way, just in case. I think I'm also going to remove the swivel studs.
I'll see about posting pictures of my APV-equipped style next to my Eraticator-equipped Style so you guys can see the difference in size.

The 453 Varmint is almost a full pound heavier than my Style/Silhouette. I don't have the battery installed in my scope, so maybe that'll help a bit._Shorty wrote:Which 452? If you just got the 8.5-25x50mm scope then their site says it weighs 22 ounces. My Tasco weighs 19.6 ounces, and my 453 Varmint makes weight. (Barely.)

That's the fix I used on a Varmint built with a Weaver KT15. If you want a set of the off set BKL rings, send me a message.jsimmons wrote:One problem I do have is that I can't move the scope far enough back for my taste (I had the same problem with the APV). Are the offsets at least as high as the 257's? How much do you want for them?BlauBear wrote:That's the fix I used on a Varmint built with a Weaver KT15. These are the BKL 274's - no box, but they don't look used, and they're the same height as the 257's. $25 plus shipping? I also have a new BKL 260 (drop compensated unitized mount) for $50 if anyone is interested.

I finally got around to weighing my rifle. Configured as below:
CZ-452 Style
Metal magazine well
Mueller Eraticator (with the bikini cover on it)
BKL-254 cantilever scope mount
Empty plastic magazine
It comes it at 7.8 pounds - well under the maximum allowed weight in Hunter class.
