It sounds like an unusual bedding job, and the bottom metal in use is just incidental. Your short term fix is to use magazines you can actually pull out, which are legal, while your long term fix is probably some bedding work or a different stock. Either way keep the bottom metal, Marv made some nice stuff.

For a cheap short term fix, I believe you can use Savage 10-rd magazines, and only load them with 5 rounds. Those are cheap and easy to get ahold of.

I sure dont want to touch the metal. It is a work of art! I have a little experience with AutoCAD and the resulting quality, and this rivals anything I've seen= no machining marks of any type. If the bottom metal to action distance IS the ultimate cause I'll mill out the bedding and pillars from the underside and re-bed the bottom metal a little closer to the action.

First of all, I was not aware of this post, until somebody call it to my attention a couple of days ago. I really did not want to get involved on it. But here it goes.
I heard about your products about 8 years ago, and after looking at your metal work, trigger guards, scope rings, ring bases, etc. I was amased at how beautifull they are, and the fantastic workmaship, they are the best as far as I am concerned.
I heard about your health issues, and I am sorry about it, but if you take care of yourself, you should be able to overcome them.
Anyway, I am 67 years old, and retired from regular work, I am a mechanical engineer retired, and a master machinist when every machine was manual.
For the last 20 years before my retirement, I was the superintendent for a machine shop with over 400 machines that specialize in oil field equipment.
I have a couple of lathes and a mill at home, which I played around with, and build my own guns, and some for my friends, so after my retirement 5 years ago, I figured I can keep myself busy working on some ocassional guns for friends, and also play around with my own.
I really never though that it would take off the way it did. I love working on guns, but it was never my intention to make it into a full time job, HELL I am supposed to be retired.
Well I guess I better get to the point, It was never my intention to compete againts you or my friend in Round Rock for any business or anything else, and I have never bad mouth the quality or your's or Mark's work, and I really don't know, why you keep putting me down.
Now I have to say, that when I saw your stickers that said ( Mr Marvin ) I really loved them, and I started thinking about my own sticker, something like ( Mr. Evelio ) but after your last post, I really like something like (Mr Mojito)
Anyway you take care of yourself, there are not that many good machinist out there anymore.

I have to apologise for hyjacking this thread for a personal answer to Mr. Marv. but anyway, he was correct when he stated that the action was not inletted deep enough, by who ever did it. But the problem will be solved by installing an extended mag. release lever, as used in the 54 Anschutz actions, without having to make any modifications to the actual bedding. By the way, when the actions are inletted properly in the Pharr stocks, the Pearson trigger guards will work fine.

I don't think you need to apologize....You showe a lot more patience and restraint than most of us would have after all the backhanded slaps and thinly veiled malicious references to your work that has been flung around by "certain" individuals that sometimes tend to blow up this board with their mean spirited posts....Class always shows, Evelio...no getting around it.
