Could the Silhouette stock be considered flimsy or floppy? Is there any way you could add weight, eg, hollow out under the barrel channel and fill with lead shot? I would want to keep it eligible for hunter class @ 8.5 lbs. Thanks.

The CZ Silhouette is floppy & flimsy, and actually works best without floating the barrel. Try to float the barrel and the forearm will twist around and rub, so just leave it. Better yet, get a Varmint or American and avoid the problem.

Agreed - the CZ Silhouette/Style stocks are flimsy and floppy, and in my opinion make the rifles seem "cheaper" than their American or Varmint equivalents.

I have a 452 Varmint which I like very much, even though the stock isn't perfectly suited for silhouette shooting.

I have had my CZ Silo now for 4 years and love it. It is a great shooter and I have not reached the level of shooting the gun can produce. For the money its a good deal. I shoot wolf and eley in mine and have a Weaver T-24 on it. Great gun.

Well Hello and Merry Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New Year! The boys are doing great. They are growing way to fast...already 9 years old. BUT, that means they have been shooting with me at the matches here in Tulsa 3 years now and for their age they do well. How is your not so little boy anymore doing? Did you all have a great Christmas?

I have been using a CZ 452 silhouette model since I started shooting silhouette. I love my rifle and wish I could shoot as well as it is capable of doing. While my son's 452 American will shoot virtually any ammo with decent to very good results my silhouette has a bit of champagne taste. The one cheap ammo it loved you can't get anymore. It is however extremely fond of Eley. It could be my inexperience but I don't know what constitutes a flimsy or floppy stock. The silhouettes are very light even with the scope on ... that was one thing hard for me to adjust to (still working on it) as I was used to shooting much heavier rifles before I got into silhouette. I haven't done anything to my CZ as far as a new trigger (guess I got lucky on that one) or adding weight. The one thing I did do was put the rifle on the bench and tried various ammos to find the ones that did best, IF I could shoot as well as the rifle does I would be a master shooter by now.

The Silhouette stock forearm will easily deflect into the barrel, so free-floating the barrel is a lost cause.
