A little Australian humor.... :-)
From a friend Down Under....
A bloke's wife goes missing while diving off the Australian coast.
He radios to the authorities to report her missing, a massive search is
initiated, but the search finds no trace of her. After 48 sleepless hours
he goes home, forlorn.
The next morning there's a knock at the door and he is greeted by a
couple of policemen: an older Sargeant and a younger Constable.
The Sarge says, 'Mate, we have some news for you. Unfortunately it's
really bad news, but, a little good news, and possibly some more good news to come'.
'Well,' says the bloke, 'I guess I'd better have the bad news first...'
The Sarge says, 'I'm really sorry, but your wife is confirmed dead.
Young Constable Bill here found her about five fathoms down, stuck in a little cleft in the reef. He got a line around her body and we pulled it up."
The bloke is naturally pretty distressed to hear of this, but after a few
minutes he pulls himself together and asks what the "good news" could possibly be?
The Sarge says, 'Well when we got your wife to the surface, there were quite a few really nice crabs hanging on to her, so we netted them and brought them to you.'
He hands the bloke a bucket with four or five crabs in it.
'Geez thanks. They're bloody beauties. I guess it's a silver lining to this dark cloud.....so what's this other "possible good news to come"?
'Well', the Sarge says, 'if you've got time to join us, me and young Bill
here get off duty at around 11 o'clock and we're planning to run out to the reef there and pull her up again...."
