I can testify that Bob259 is good people....He, along with Inncoent Mary are the kind of folks who would pick a guy up on the side of the road in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere and haul him all over half of Pennslyvania in search of a gas can that is not blue and gas to go in it too...

Hey...I wasn't at the register when the color of the can discussion came up, so you two could have just claimed color blindness and gotten away with it! Oh yeah, you were dealing with a clerk that wanted to know how much gas you wanted for a 5 gallon can and which pump you were parked at, so she probably never heard of color blindness either. Bob was a good sport about his little side trip back to his room.

You obviously never owned an English made car (wiring by Lucas.... a/k/a "prince of darkness").

Once upon a time I had a Triumph TR-6 that had a nasty habit of the gas gauge showing F pretty much all the time (I said it stood for FOOL)... Once you saw the gauge move from the F mark, you had about 2 miles of fuel left before the gauge made it to the E mark (which stood for "EVERYONE's laughing at you for running out of gas")

Once upon a time I had a Triumph TR-6 that had a nasty habit of the gas gauge showing F pretty much all the time (I said it stood for FOOL)... Once you saw the gauge move from the F mark, you had about 2 miles of fuel left before the gauge made it to the E mark (which stood for "EVERYONE's laughing at you for running out of gas") -Tim

Unfortunately you are incorrect... I've been the proud owner of two English buit cars a MGB and TR7... the only thing better than that was wondering if the wipers were going to work when you needed them, or if the mechanical cable driven tach as going to quit.

Bob, I apprenticed on MG's and other British Leyland "products" - maybe why the Marine Corps seemed like a better career choice! Repairing them was as adventurous as driving them since you never knew what combination of non-interchangeable parts a particular car had, and never mind the unusual places they used cardboard instead of steel.

LOL... totally forgot about the cardboard panels. Also liked the wood frame sections on some of the earlier models
