Dear Barack,

Post by carl425 »

Yet again you find yourself embarrassed by your membership in Reverend Wright's Trinity United Church. And once again you try to disassociate yourself with specific remarks made by one individual thinking that will get you off the hook.

Unfortunately, that won't work this time. It has now become clear that the remarks you try to distance yourself from are enthusiastically embraced by the congregation. Your only option now is to disassociate yourself with Trinity United ENTIRELY. Admit that your membership in that church was nothing more that an attempt to establish yourself as "black enough" to support your political ambitions. Admit that you in fact have nothing in common with these kooks and their outrageous attitudes and conspiracy theories. Admit that you are in fact the intellectual liberal elitist that the rest of us know you to be.

You can't have it both ways.

He could break all ties with that church but after 20 years there is no denying you must have common beliefs otherwise no one would sit through that fucking bullshit. I don't know about everyone else but I can pretty much tell in a matter of minutes much less years if someone is of the character that I would want to associate myself with. To plausibly admit to all the things you just mentioned would be the equivilant of him pretty much saying he has alzheimers.

His associations will come out more in the near future and the hollow shell that most politicians are especially democrats will be exposed. When the curtain shuts all that white guilt he is counting on is not going to be in the booth. The whole fact that anything you ask or question makes you a racist gives me the red ass. The arguement many have is that if you don't vote for him its because your racist. What the fuck is that maybe I don't like him because of his communist leanings I wouldn't vote for a white commie either.

Ok rant off... for now...

Soon after this originally became public a white friend of mine discussed it with a black friend of theirs, and they explained this was a black prophetic tradition that was fading out. What rocked my world was connecting this to having been wronged by every minority I had ever considered a friend, and that if the black community is told in church that it is alright to cheat (to put it mildly) white men because they are oppressors, then how can I ever trust a minority?

And on the other side, from the party that has brought us eight years of continuous, ideology driven catastrophe... Aw shit - this is depressing - can we please just go shoot some steel now? Both parties have histories they need to convincingly disavow if they want my vote.

Dee...was your rant aimed at me ? I sincerely hope not. If I offendend you sir, honestly, that was not my intent.... My only intent was let's not make this next presidential election be determined on racism...

I don't like our choises for our next President any better than any one else, especially if you are a gun owner.

How about, what will be best for this country of ours based on the limited choises we have this go round ? That in my opinion sir, would make for a more civil discussion...

Marv,

You are 100$ spot-on as our choices are extremely limited. I am sick and tired of the fucking race bias bullshit. I will vote for the best available candidate regardless of race. Racism is prevalent in the black community and no one that I know EVER oppressed any person of any race, color, or creed! That being said, I am going to support McCain.

Look on the bright side. If the guy with the big ears gets elected president, it will only be for 4 years. He will screw everything up like Carter did.

Damn! I don't believe I've been a part of anything in a very long time where the words I hear and read I so completely agree with! I believe the "change" Obama speaks SO eloquently of is, and could be, more racial divisiveness than this country can withstand, and then there's that Democratic-party-line bullshit. My predecessors were historically Democrats, but, these days, not so much. The only one still adhereing to said party is my dear 94 year old aunt, and that's mostly because she's just waaay hard-headed. I, like all ya'll, truly believe we, the true believers of the original intent of our Constitution, and Bill of Rights, are under attack, and the LAST thing this country needs now, while we are truly under attack from those who want us either all Muslim, or all dead, is a race war, and I see Obama truly, subtley bringing just that to our collective doorstep. That being said, and my true red neck fully exposed, I s'pose enuff said. Oh, and Blaubear, will one more post make you a "master poster"? The "counter" shows 999 posts attributed to you, so, bang, do the roll-over! Kitty needs the competition!

No my rant was just my rant. There is only one choice in this election and thats not saying much IMO. The lesser of 3 evils is still evil. All I was saying is there is no way anyone would overlook that association with his church if it was a candidate of any other pigment.

I am not offended except when I feel my freedoms being stripped from me by both of the so called choices. The politicians on both sides of the aisle all need to be sent home. Term limits need to be established and we need to get back to stricter interpretation of the original bill of rights and what the government is actually charged with managing.

For christ sakes it takes a fucking tumor to get Teddy out and he has been up there longer than I have been alive. Do I see anything fixed that was fucked up over 20 years ago when I first started to vote? Nope not a damn thing all I have is less freedom and less money. If our founding fathers came back today I have no doubt they would look at all of us and ask how we let it get this way and why haven't we rebeled. Then they would probably be headed to the local gun store to get provisions to fix things themselves.

food for thought Patrick J. Buchanan

Post by jneihouse »

This passed on to me via email....

Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.? Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks.

Let him go toAltoona?and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.?

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case andJena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

Thanx John...I was going to include this in my earlier replys but for fear of be excessivly politically uncorrect, I refrained.

While I do not always agree with Pat Buchanon, he really does make some valid points with what he had to say.

Why is is that white Americans have to tippy toe around senstive issues and all the rest of the welfare state just keeps piling on?

Like I said. Our choices this year suck. I just hope some misguided dipshit does not do something real stupid that turns black americans, hispanic americans, and white americans against one another.

Some of you may not like our present President. I like him fine. He is very funny to listen to. I feel his heart is in exactly the right place.

Perhaps we should all channel any pent up anxieties or anger at the likes of CNN or NBC. Let's all make an SOB like Wolf Blitzer the poster child of what's really wrong here in the good old USA...

Rant off...

Marvin,

Started not to post it, but I, too, am tired of tippy toeing around in fear of offending someone who has the misguided idea that he or she is "entitled" to anything just because he or she is of a particular color or cultural persuasion....I don't always agree with Buchannan either, if fact I don't think I ever agree with anyone all the time, I just too damned independent for that . I personally hope that Hillary takes this whole mess to the floor of the Democratic National Convention and her and Obama fight it out to the bitter end with all of America as their stage....Should give us something to watch on the evening news for some time to come.
