Let Us Never Forget
I know I could have posted this in the club house but this is where all my friends hang out.
I hope tomorrow you will take a few moments and remember what Memorial day is all about.
Tomorrow as I do most ever day I will remember my fallen buddies. I will remember the good times not the bad. I will think of how we felt we would live forever. The laughter and the smiles. How we fought for not ideas and politics but our families, friends and the small towns we came from.
I will not be sad but rejoice in the knowledge we did what we felt was our duty and service to this great country.
Two thoughts I will never forget,
All gave some, some gave all
Freedom is never free

We have but one life to live, live it like you stole it, live it right up to the hilt.

Just a little reminder here that even the smallest things can make someone's day. I stopped in a drive-thru and grabbed some food yesterday and noticed the truck behind me had a Marines sticker on the window. I paid for my food and his and drove away, and asked the cashier to tell him thanks for his service. That only cost me three dollars and change and I bet it made his day better. That's very little to pay for service that oftens costs so much more and makes my family's life better. Please everyone take the time to do at least one thing to say thanks, and don't just limit it to today.

So very true Dawg.. Thanks to all that have served on this day and everyday in which we still enjoy our freedoms.
I will not be going outside to shoot guns I inherited from relatives no longer here with us that all served to protect our freedoms and whom I know would want nothing more than for me to exercise my 2nd with their guns in honor of them all.
Gone but never forgotten.

Dawg,
Having grown up the youngest child of a naval officer that did two tours in the S. Pacific during WWII as a pilot, and having a silhouette mentor that spent a tour as gunner in the PBY's, as well as 5 years working in the marshes of the the St John's with a former UDT from Nam as my boss.
I can only say thanks for remembering the good times and not the bad, they were all great guys and loved life for what it is, not the sad parts that they saw and lived through.
Thanks for a great posting on your fallen comrades.
