2014-Feb-Mar-Apr-May Tacoma Matches
Just received word and called club to confirm.
They are closing the .22 Piel Range for the month or so while they raise the berm on the right-hand side from 7' to 12'.
They are waiting to coordinate a dump trailer and loader. They think they have enough dirt but if they do not, it will need to be brought in.
If anyone wants to speed this up and has access to heavy equipment, get a hold of me and we can get things moving faster.
Pass the word along if you would. Thanks. --M

Re: 2014-Feb Tacoma Matches
I put word out that some volunteers would be available if the club needs help making the berms taller.
Wish we wouldn't miss out on 2 matches while this was being done but from the sounds of it we'll be back up and running in March.
If you live in the area and want to pitch in contact Mike or myself and we'll get things going.

Re: 2014-Feb-Mar-Apr-May Tacoma Matches
Ok, it's May. Here's what I've learned.
They are done with building the berm. The want to cover it with wood chips.
The Board has voted to re-open the Piel Range once the chips are in place.
I was told the chips are on site. They either need to be trucked to the berm, or have already been staged nearby.
They are asking for manpower to spread the chips. I will be attempting to coordinate this with the gentleman in charge of the project.
Watch here and your email inbox (email sent out) - I'll be attempting to put the screws to our shooting base to turn out and get this finished up.
Thanks. --M
Update to the Update: Got a hold of the "Super" on the project. They're going to tractor the chips onto the berm and we can come in and do the final shovel/racking into place.
I will be checking in with him next week to see where they are with it. --M

Yeah, this is in Tacoma (TSC) at the Piel (.22) Range. Not to be confused with the Pe Ell Range.

Re: 2014-Feb-Mar-Apr-May Tacoma Matches
Update. Just got off the phone with TSC. They just finished dumping all of the wood chips onto the berms this evening.
They are asking for anyone to come by this weekend and rake the chips up to the top of the berm.
The Board is coming by on Monday to check out the work so they can approve opening the range.
Please feel free to come by at any time with a rake and see what you can do. The more people the club sees there, the better.
Thanks. --M

Reed T. reports he was able to put in some time on the berm this morning.
He's got the range-side fairly covered.
Sounds like some time on the far-side to keep erosion down, and generally smoothing it out is remaining.

Byron, myself and likely two impoverished target setter ladies are on after small bore at cap city.
Anyone else want to join us after the match we'll just get things all pretty like that much faster.
What shap was the foliage in mike? Should we look at doing some landscaping or maybe topiaries?
