newbe question about trigger weight

What would be a good trigger weight for shooting metallic silhouette in the standard rifle division? I will be shooting an Anschutz Model 1808. I think the trigger in it is a 5020D.

My heavy rifle is about 3 or 4 ozs which is a little light for many. I am giving some thought to taking it up to about 8 oz.

About the same 3-4 oz. as Jerry G. for my Standard Smallbore Rifle. ~8 oz. for my Standard HP Rifle.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure my rifle is set at the factory setting of 550 grams (1 lb 2 oz). I'll try that and if I don't like it, then I'll try, perhaps, 4 0z. Since I'm new to all of this, can anyone tell me the name of a reasonably priced practice ammo. I don't want to pay $20 + dollars a day just to practice.

Alot of people use SK standard plus or wolf match target to practice. Or CCI Standard velocity. The problem is these days people shoot whatever they can find.

Personally I shoot the wolf and have had great results with it.

The factory setting should be fine - a lot of very good scores are shot with 2lb triggers in hunter class, so don't worry about it being too heavy. As some others have noted going to light can be more of a problem for new shooters as they worry about shooting when they are not ready i.e. as the cross hairs dance all over the place.
