Savage Mod 10 in 260

I setup my new Savage Mod 10 Pred Htr Max1 / 260 with a 20 MOA base and Weaver rings and it weighs in at 10 lbs. 1.2 ozs. Whew, man I was releaved. The gun came in right to spec at 8.75 lbs.
It looked like I might have ejection problem with the base rail but I put few empty cases through it and the casings side eject with no problem.
Just got to go sight it in now.

If you need a little more wiggle room you can take off that other scope cap.

I have a new Savage 11 in .260 for hunter class, still playing with getting some weight in the stock,
Still getting the rasp like bore smoothed just a bit
The groups before smoothing are oh-hum, looking for a change on that.

Pete,nice set up.I see the rear ring contacts the turret.Thats the same problem i have with Leupolds.I can't get them back far enough without hitting bell or turret.This makes cheek weld forced forward.Does anyone have this same problem or solution?Length of pull is OK,just eye relief problem.Hermit5

All my Leupold turrets end up almost dead smack in the middle of the ejection port.

All my guns measure 10 1/4 inches from the butt end to the scope eye piece which is just right for my proper cheek weld and sighting picture...except this new gun. It's at 10 1/2 inches and it makes a difference. I'm going to check the dimension of the factory recoil pad and see if the Limb Saver I have on the other guns is smaller.
And, yes I have to edge forward a little to get the scope to come in with a full picture.

Pete,i measured LOP on 2 700s.The one that fits me the best is actually longer.BUT that scope is an EFR AIR Rifle the other is just EFR.So now the question is.Do EFR AIR RIFLE scopes have a different eye relief than a regular one?
Maybe i should be posting this on scopes,&rings forum?

I really dig the accutrigger. I haven't tried one in competition but imagine it would be pretty dandy. Curious to see how it works out.

I have a Savage with the accutrigger and it is nice to dial it down and know its still safe but the feel of the trigger shoe on the finger is odd at first. Also and I'm not 100% sure about this but they don't have aftermarket triggers that will fit the accutrigger guns. But I could be wrong.

Sharp shooter supply competition trigger will fit the accutrigger models. Around $100. Goes from 2lb to 12oz.
