Southwestern Colorado?
Just bought a summer place in CO not far from a 500m range between Del Norte and Monte Vista.
I'm told that the range began in the 80s(?) as a full course silhouette venue but the game died out due to lack of interest. It seems to be used primarily for sighting in and pistol comp. (I'm still so new here that I don't really know the full story.)
Anyone onboard sufficiently familiar with the local shooting politics to suggest whether an effort to renew interest in silhouette in the area is worthwhile...or wasted effort?
3 hours southwest of Pueblo, 1+40 west of Walsenberg, 2 east of Durango, etc, etc.

I have seen a couple shooters come up to the Denver area from down there but I haven't seen them for a couple years. Don't know if that helps you or not.

Thanks Jerry.
I think i got my answer more or less by default...default of de fact that nobody local even monitors this site to respond.
I'll talk more with the few shooters that I've met in the area but, after over 15 years of directing silhouette matches, I'm in the "BTDT, got the T shirt" bunch where it comes to promoting the game. Unless there's serious response, I'm not going to push that ball very far uphill.
(I may have to buy cammies, get the Randall knife and Girl-Scout hat out of the safe -- the hat's the only part of the old uniform that still fits -- and go play wannabe commando. That appears to be the game du jour...) lol

Re: Southwestern Colorado?
Mc Alice has been so busy he hasn't even talked with me much...just enough to tell me I had gone too far past the range!
So maybe he is busy gearing up for the states this weekend.
