On offer is a top-of-the-line, 260, Hunter HP barrel threaded for a Remington 700 Short Action. It is chambered with a custom (my design) designed match reamer that allows the 108 and 139 Scenars to engage the lands though a very tight freebore for excellent accuracy and still feed from the magazine. This 8-twist, stainless steel, 4.5 taper, 24" long barrel is in like-new condition. It weighs 2.87 lbs. Speedy Gonsolaz, a top BR gunsmith, did the work. The barrel was broken-in, quick load-testing session and only one State match fired. The rules changed for HP Hunter I so went with a Ti action and longer, heavier barrel in a composite stock. There are less then 150 rounds through the barrel. It has been bore-scoped with a 25X Hawkeye bore-scope. There is no heat-cracking on the land-tops. The barrel should be good for 5,000 rounds of sub 1/4 MOA accuracy with appropriate HP silhouette loads and proper care.
