Inter-station gear transport?

Hey all,
I see guys at the range typically use 2 different methods to transport their gear between animal stations. 1st group uses either a small tool box, or a hard sided tool bag, and carries their gear in it from station to station. the 2nd group wears a shotgun shooting vest, and carries the gear in all the pockets.

I lean toward the tool box, as I tried the vest thing, and didn't like feeling the gear boppin around in the vest while I'm steadying. Plus, I didn't like the shooting pad in the vest. Sure I could take it out, but would have to cut the vest. Lastly, I limit stuff in the vest to a box of ammo per relay, and a spare mag. I think with the tool box/bag, I could carry a little more stuff, IE some oil in case of a sticky action or something. Plus the small doormat I bought to put on the tables so I'm not layin the gun on the cement or rusty bolts on the tables is the only other thing I carry.

I wanted to hear how some others do it, and also if there's some rules here I'm missing. I glanced, and didn't see anything in the rules about limits to gear on station other than whats on your person affecting shooting. Doesn't seem like any problem to have a cleaning rod and some oil in the bag.

In cowboy lever action and hunters pistol most people use a open top plastic utilty box.Some what like a shower caddy.These are light and have alot of room.Flambeu that makes takle boxes sell them.

I've used both a carry caddy and a vest for the primary "stuff" transport. The vest allows the hands to be occupied with rifle and spotting scope.

I am a SB and HP shooter and don't shoot the other programs. I don't recall anyone carring a tool box around on the line. All you need is your gun,ammo, and timer.

Some use a sewn bag that attaches to the tripod for spotting, some use the Creedmore style stools for carrying stuff in, most use vests and carry little besides ammo, scope, rifle and score card and at least one has a "waterboy"(gunbearer).
Cowboy and some HP have carts to carry rifles and other assorted stuff, mostly ammo.
Air pistol tends to use open tool carry totes.

Do know of any rule against using whatever you want, there isn't much that is needed, occasionally a cleaning rod for to push out a stuck bullet/round. I have always been able to find one that someone local has carried, as they are a nuiscance to carry on a plane when travelling light.
I carry lens pen, small screwdriver, spare ear plugs and ammo in my vest pockets with no problems.

It seems to me that years ago we didn't have much STUFF to carry but now. As the years go by it seems like we all have gathered a big pile of stuff and we think we need to carry it with us every place we go. Most of the gear could well stay in the trunk of the car.

I just use my Hardscrabble vest pockets. I have my rifle in one hand and the clipboard with scorecard and scope settings in the other. The extra magazines, ammo, and timer are in the pockets. What else is needed? On the occasion that I have a spotter, he/she usually carries the spotting scope to the next station, as I do when I'm the spotter last before we move to a new animal.
