Hello all,
I normally shoot an Anschutz 54 MSR but thought I would try a 10-22 so I built one. Now I'm showing it off.
What do you guys think?

Boyds Evolution stock was green and tan laminate. Painted myself.

What king of accuracy have you gotten out of it?

Very nice looking gun there. I have tried a few Rugers but have always found the trigger lacking. Too much creep. Do they make good drop in triggers that break really crisp like the CZ 452 can be made to do? The guns I have held felt good, but the trigger just was too much to get used to.

Good looking rig. I'm actually using that same stock design (Boyd's Evo) as a project rifle using a Russian-made biathlon action.

I got the barreled action fit into the stock, and intend to use it for silhouette matches as well, but have a couple of issues with the silhouette rules. You might want to check yours also if you plan to use that rifle in a sanctioned event. It's a great looking rig, but before using it in an official NRA match, there are a couple of areas where that stock might not comply.

On mine, the depth of the stock is greater than 2-1/4" below the centerline of the bore. I plan to mill the bottom of the stock to get it into compliance with the rules. You might want to check yours if you plan to shoot in any big matches. I think you will find that the forend is more than 2-1/4" below centerline.

The other issue I have is that the forend does not extend more than 8 inches in front of the receiver/barrel junction. That might not be an issue with your 10/22, but with the action I'm using, it doesn't comply with the NRA rules. Again, I plan to modify the forend to make sure it's at least 8 inches in front of the receiver/barrel junction, and does not extend more than 2-1/4" below the centerline.

I have not shot it yet hoping to real soon. Will post groups when I do.
The VQ trigger parts do have some creep, theres a way to solve that just haven't done it yet.
The Kidd trigger group is a 2 stage adjustable thats close to an Anschutz so I'm told. If that's true I'll get one.
The action depth is 2 and 3/8 from center line to the thickest part of the forearm and 8 and 1/8th from the action/barrel junction.
It weighs in at 8lbs 7oz with my new Sightron 8x32x56 with Leupold Mark4 30mm aluminum rings. The Leupold pictured weighs about 8oz less than the Sightron.

The range I shoot at doesn't sanction matches anymore so I'm good there, bigger matches I'm not sure.

Brian, I can say YES the Kidd trigger is that good. Have one in my Kidd CMP 22 Ruger that I had him do for me. SWEET

Everyone that tried it so far has ended up getting the trigger group or a rifle from him, so I would say that says it all.

Hello all,

I shot a 29,28, and a 30 last night in practice on my swingers with my newest toy, I'm smilin ear to ear.

Still think a Kidd trigger is in order, this ones not bad but could be alot better.

Shot some groups @ 50 yds less than 1/2 " w/CCI SV .
