CZ 452 SUPER MATCH
Hi,
I am new here and have been a lurker for the past few weeks. There is a wealth of knowledge here and I am glad to try and absorb it
I am considering getting into silhouette shooting. I am looking to purchase my first .22 lr and it has come down to a used Weatherby xxii if I can find one or a new CZ. I have read many of the posts about CZ but there doesn't seem to be any information regarding the CZ 452 SUPER MATCH http://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/80-rimfir ... MATCH.aspx
Has anyone had first had experience with this rifle? It has a different barrel with a new 12 grove design (opposed to 6) which is apparently suppose to help accuracy and I read a review stating the chamber was tighter. Other than that it seems to have the same stock as a lux

The folks at RimfireCentral can probably give you a better assessment of this rifle - they seem to be "up" on all the available models.
That being said - the CZ Supermatch is most likely a very fine rifle. With the LUX style stock, however, you may find it difficult to get a good cheek weld and a comfortable position due to the low comb height and sloping lines of the comb. The popular silhouette stocks typically have high cheekpieces to allow a comfortable head position with good cheek contact, as well as putting the rifle lower on the shoulder (keeping your head more upright).
I have a CZ Varmint which has a straight comb, but is still a bit low (usable, but low). The CZ American might be slightly higher, but I can't say for sure. The CZ Silhouette has a nicely designed stock ( a copy of the Anschutz 1712), but the plastic material CZ uses is flimsy.
Anyway, I would suggest trying several models and judging for yourself.

Now if CZ would make their Silhouette stock in wood and drop the Varmint action it...

Re: CZ 452 SUPER MATCH
I went to a sale today at a local gun shop. Waited outside in line for 3 hours but I managed to get a great deal on a new Weatherby XXII 20% off retail! Managed to pick one up for $740 CAD. For up here that a unheard of price... So I guess it is settled then, hehe. Any advice on rings? I have a Mueller 8.5-25x44AO Tactical lying around that I plan to mount on it.

Wow! You got a much better rifle!
The standard choice is BKL 257, but they are a little tall. They work perfectly for a lot of us though.
