Anyone make a similar stock to his RTS for a 1712 action?

There's Nesika Bay, but most folks that inlet stock dislike using them for 1712's because the action is too long for the flat top, so the stock needs building up - a real pain. Unfortunately, it's also made by Robertson Composites which makes it problematic right now.

I didn't think the Niseka was that big a problem. I have known a few people that have them and they are as happy as a clam at high tide.

Nobody makes a carbon fiber stock like the Pharr except Robertson Composites, they have the exclusive rights. Nobody else makes anything anywhere close to it. I have 10 on order right now, and 6 are spoken for, they promise to deliver all orders before shut down.

They are located in Canada, and the biggest problem they have is keeping the help. They spend a month or so training, and they normally don't last but a few months. The work enviroment is kind of dirty, and extremly dusty, so it always gets down to 3 family members doing all the work. They claim they are burnt, and tired. They really need several of our illegal immigrants.

One challenge is they are trying hard to sell the company which could effect the product offerings as well as quality. If the company is bought things could change rapidly and who knows if the new owners will honor the "fill all order" Robertson is talking about.

I heard mixed reporting of how Robertson is going to wrap this whole thing up if it does not sell the company. They also got a landslide of orders when they announced this in August making it almost physically impossible to fill all the orders before February at the pace they have been doing for the last year.

I sincerely hope you are correct Evelio they will fill all orders before shutting down and the possible new owners will do the same. I was looking for a plan B in case things don't go as we all like.

Try getting ahold of Steve Wooster, who is a member on this board. He has the rights to the neskia stock and has them made for him. Every single person who is serious about silhouette in the northwest( Dennis Martinen, Eric Boos, the new national highpower champion Laura Goetsch),has one or more stocks from Steve. he even make carbon fiber standard stocks. Steve has no problem inletting the old nesika design for a 1712. He's modifided the design abit so its better than the old nesikas. I guess if its not a Pharr stock its not worth mentioning. :-$

Who makes the Wooster stocks? If Robertson Composites does the work we still have a problem. And what changes did he make to the Nesika stock? I prefer them over the Pharr (Heresy!) but wish the forearm accommodated a split finger hold.

Shakes
There is nothing wrong with the Nessica stocks, personally I prefer them for High Power, actually the original R/T Pharr stocks were a copy of the Nessica except for a modification to the cheek piece.
Tony Tello gave me some info. on a stock maker in Mexico ( fiberglass ) that makes a copy of the Pharr RT/S stocks. I have seen pictures, and they look really good, the only difference is that he don't use the gel coat with the colors build in, his have to be painted, which he also does. The stocks price is real cheap compare to the others, but the paint job is actually more than the stock itself.
The Co. interested in buying Robertson is located around Dallas, Texas. Maybe it will come thru, but I bet the price will be more.

Evelio, if they move manufacturing to Dallas you can bet on being right about Hispanics working there! Maybe Hispanics owning the place, too. We should suggest that Mike Rowe do a "Dirty Jobs" segment on the process, since between the fiberglass, epoxy and gel coat conditions in that shop have to be awful!

BB...the conditions and working environment in a fiberglass shop do not have to be awful...been there done that, grew up in it.

Steve is in the process of making his own mold so he can do it himself and not have to go to a outside manufacturer like robertson. If you look at the old neskia stocks the forearm is longer and more square, Steve made the forearm shorter and more of round profile to better acomidate those of us who use the split finger way. he also made the palm swell a little more noticable. I've had the old neskia stock and the new ones from Steve, Steves changes made the stock more comfortable to hold in your hands. :D

BB you'll have to come to the Conard Cup this year and I'll let you take a look at Steves stocks, :ymhug: just stay away from the beach as our northern sharks like southern meat, just ask Kitty. =))
