Gary certainly knows what he is talking about. One aspect that can be a bit different because of our shooting without a jacket is elbow position of your trigger arm as well as the amount of pressure applied by your trigger hand. Unfortunately, reading the article is great for getting an understanding of where you want to go but is a long way from getting there. Without a coach to help you build it, finding a solid position can be a lot of experimentation. Nothing wrong with that but can get a bit frustrating.

Dave is certainly correct, when I shoot my AR15 in a Creedmore Hardback coat, my elbow of my shooting hand is straight down, tucked in. For Silhouette, I "chicken wing" with my shooting arm pretty much parallel to the ground......
Also I noticed they used a female for pictures, as more women are able to kick their off side hip out and rest their elbow of their off arm on it, than men are. Fortunately for me, I must be a girly man, as I can achieve that "column of support" but 75% or so of us guys can't.
