practice targets

I have been thinking about getting some targets for the backyard. Does anyone make any that would correspond with SB distances at like 30 yds or so. Swingers would be cool. I am now looking for a cheap but decent air rifle break barrrel is fine. Remington has one that looks decent for around 175. Anybody use one of these?

I was just thinking about ordering some of these for airgun practice from Quality Targets. They're scaled for airgun distances, which I believe are 20, 30, 36, and 45 yards. They also said to me that they can scale them to any size you want, if they're not the size you're after.

You might want to try putting the SB chickens out at 36 or 45.

Oh yes, forgot to mention the air rifle I use out in the backyard. I've got a pair of these that I'm quite happy with. CZ Slavia 631 Probably in the same price range as the one you looked at already.

edit - hmm, if not cheaper. I paid $160 Cdn each for mine back in July of '06.

I think you would be better served shooting paper at 10m with your air rifle. The holes in the paper don't lie about the location of your shots. I know it dosn't give you the satisfying visual of the target falling but you'll get over with the better feedback on hit location. That is something you can do all year long in the basement or garage.

You can buy a good metal trap for under $50 and it will never wear out. 10m targets are available in PDF format that you can print on the back of a another target.

I am cutting up a 4x8 sheet of AR-500 next month. I also have some 3/8 mild that would work.

For air rifle targets, all you should need is 1/8" or 10ga mild steel.

You can use mild steel (A36) for all targets except HP.
