Can a hunter stock have vents in the fore arm??

Post by mike4764 »

Trying to do some damage control for the Richards stock that never came, I have a spare stock on hand but it has vent holes cut in the fore end, Not sure if its legal or not.

If it meets all the other dimensions I don't think it is an issue. My son has competed with an Anschutz 1451 which has vents. We did have to have "taper" turned in the barrel and trim the thickness of the stock at the magazine aprox 1/4".

At most local matches the rules are very "loosely" applied. At the big ones things are kept pretty close. The 1451 was competed with at lots of local matches before we did work to get it to "spec" up with no complaints for competitiors or officials.

So IMHO when in doubt bring it and shoot it. We need more shooters all the time!
