Range setup questions.
Is there a standard height the silhouettes should be off the ground when resting on the stands? I know the local match I shoot at uses flat pieces welded to re-bar at two different heights for each five animals.
I was also wondering what more permanent type setups use for stands and backers. This will not need to be taken down but I don't want anything to involved either.
Any input appreciated, I will be ordering the targets soon.

Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again!

As far as I know there is no requirement for height, I have never seen anything to indicate such.
I am a member of two different clubs that use about the same type of stands, a combination of railroad rail and/or grader blade set at ground level, foot pads welded on. The grader blade is the easiest and cheapest, usually free to diligent scroungers, just weld some rod to the bottom for stakes and drive it into the ground, wont go anywhere! Grader blade will last forever, is very hard and impervious to hits. The rail is actually a little softer steel and will eventually get shot to hell if on a range where it is exposed to high power rifle fire.
