Burris rimfire signature ring problem

Post by jaja »

I just got a set of Burris rim fire signature rings and the cross-bolt used to tighten down the rings to BKL 181 0.6 long Tri Mount dovetail Riser Mounts will not stay tight. After about 100 shots using standard velocity ammo the cross-bolts will turn a full quarter turn. Anybody else have this problem and how did you solve it?

I have never had that particular problem but give Loctite a try. I suggest blue Locktite.

I am assuming (with out seeing a picture) you are saying you have Burris signature rings mounted to BKL riders?

2 probable problems.

There are 2 sets of jaws with the rings, you may have the thick ones on and are binding instead of tightening up on the riser.

Or, the aluminum is taking a "set" because the jaws are rather sharp on the Burris rings. That is when they become loose.

Honestly, you are probably going to need to find a better set up. Message Dustin, he has a set of rings that are uber nice and at the max height.
