CZ 455 American or Kimber HS?

My Kimber HS came with a 50 yard group measuring .295, what will your new POS CZ come with?

I have been shooting a Kimber HS for several years. I have not done any work to the rifle. I have been happy with the overall performance but I would like to try something new.
I have been talking to a gunsmith about picking up a CZ 455 American ........
Is it a waste of money to ditch the Kimber for the CZ? Is this change going to prove to be more accurate than the Kimber?

I guess some clarification is needed (for me, anyway....).
What is your purpose for thinking of changing? Do you think the Kimber is holding you back? What is your classification? Does the rifle fit you? Have you enough experience with a CZ to be confident that the overall fit (to your body) is better, and that the trigger can meet your expectation?

Would I be better off with an Anschutz?

Definitely not a bad idea, but its not unusual for these need some stock work to make them fit the individual user.

I could probably swing the cost but I always like a challenge to make something great for less money.

It sounds like you're looking for a reason to get another rifle and do some tinkering (its ok....I do it all the time ). If that's the case, and you don't mind sinking cash into a rifle that you may not get all your investment back from if/when you sell, then go for it. You wouldn't be the first to screw a Lilja barrel on a CZ and find you shoot other rifles better
If simply the best score is your goal, (that is the goal...right?) Then you may be better off buying more/better ammo and getting intimate with the Kimber.

Or maybe not.

First off, I am not a great silhouette shooter. I am a A class shooter in hunter and standard. I have always shot the Kimber for both classes. I really only compete twice a year though. Rifle fits pretty ok. I like the idea of a lighter weight rifle. The CZ is a little lighter than the Kimber.

I think I am going to give it a shot and see if I can find a CZ. If I can get a hold of a CZ I will take them both out and see what shoots better for me and sell the one that doesn't suit me the best. I may end up going Anschutz but it will be fun getting there.

Good philosophy. The important thing is that you're satisfied with your experience, whether its knocking down targets or the "getting there" with your rifle choice.

Well I can't find a CZ 455. I guess I'll keep looking or sink the cash for an Anschutz. Is the 64 action better than the Kimber action?

If you are accustomed to the heft of the Kimber, the CZ 455 and the Anschutz 64 would probably feel small to you.

I'm hoping to lighten the set up a little bit. I prefer a lighter rifle. .

Make sure to handle each of them, then, and see if you can find a CZ 452 or even a Brno. Those are both in between the Kimber HS and the CZ 455. I really disliked the 455, and to a lesser extent the 452 American, because they felt toy-like but then I'm 6'2".
