I want to personally thank Paul Freeman, Evelio McDonald and Mark Pharr for giving away the custom stock at the Texas State Small-bore rifle match.
My son Stephen (who won the rifle stock) was overwhelmed by their generous gift. He had shot several other peoples' rifles with Mark Pharr stocks at other matches, and wanted one badly. Even to the point of wanting to replace the Anschutz "Meister Grade" tiger-wood stock (which is a beautiful piece of wood) that came with his 1712. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough money saved to buy one of Mark's stocks. When he won the stock, as a junior at the Texas State Match, it was a wonderful surprise.
He is very proud of his new stock, and we can't express enough our gratitude to these three gentlemen for their generosity. The long term success of our sport is dependant upon encouraging our juniors to get (and stay) involved. Its generous actions like this that really gets them excited about shooting, and keeps them coming back.
