This match is coming up soon and it looks like we are going to have a whole bunch of top-notch championship shooters there. The food is worth the trip by itself. The range and the accommodations around the range are AWESOME. Come shoot with us!!!

Only if it's gonna be REALLY REALLY hot and humid. Can you promise that?
Joseph is only coming if he can help Jerry and Bruce cook.....
Bill Motl was reminiscing yesterday about the time a group of Louisiana Judges picked his gumbo as the best against Louisiana's best.....unbelievable.

We've decided to have a "team match" as a side match at the Louisiana state match this weekend. The following are the provisional rules that have been approved by the match director, Eric Harper. The rules may change slightly between now and the weekend but this is the gist:

Each shooter is assigned a point total based upon classification. Teams may have as many members as they want but may not exceed 10 points.

Points are allotted as follows:
Master = 6 points
AAA = 5
AA = 3
A = 2
B = 1

Shooters are classified according to their LOWEST class between standard and Hunter rifle (so if you're AA in Standard and AAA in Hunter, you're a AA shooter for purposes of this team match).

Each shooter's score for each match counts toward his team's total and the team with the highest 4-match total wins.

Ties are broken by each team choosing one team member to shoot a 5-shot shootoff at the proper shootoff animal for his/her classification. (If one team chooses a B shooter and the other team chooses a AA shooter, the B shooter shoots at pigs and the AA shooter shoots at rams.)

The fee is $5/shooter. All of the money goes into the pot and the winning team takes the entire pot.

Please ask me or Pat Steiger if you have any questions.

Also, I've been asked to run the "Chicken Challenge" like we do at Winnsboro so we may do that side game on Saturday afternoon. See you at the match!

Just search for East Ascension Parish Sheriff's training facility in Gonzales, Louisiana.
It is very close to the outlet mall in Gonzales.

I don't think the range has a website. It has a facebook page. The address is on the match program. Remember that practice doesn't start until 3:00!

Thanks to Eric Harper and the Louisiana State Silhouette shooters. The food was great. The A/C was broken. We'd appreciate it if you fixed it before next year! Did I mention the food? Gumbo on Saturday and Crawfish Etoufee on Sunday.. I can't spel it, but I shore can eat it!!! Deserts by Dewy and Patrice. Yum. Too bad Elisabeth missed the last pig. a 40 would have been nice. Congrats to Bruce. He really deserved it. Those last 10 turkey on Sunday were a gut check. He sweated every single one.

What is the plan for next year. I heard March/April time frame.

You forgot the winners of the Team shoot. That was great fun as well.

thanks

I did forget the team results. The team of Calvin Domangue (AA), Cameron Braud (AA), Torie Shelton (A) and Caleb Sims (A) put the beat-down on everybody, beating the second place team by 40-something points. They picked a really good team and all shot well. That was a great idea. Thanks for thinking of it, Pat!

I know exactly how she feels. That's happened to me at least 4 times, maybe more. That 40th target is a B!+€# !

We have big plans for this match next year and moving forward. Hope to have an announcement soon!

Only a Texan doesn't know the difference between gumbo and jambalaya. L-)
