There is a brand new 54:18 msr at Neals that keeps calling to me. Someone talk me out of it. I have never even shot a heavy gun.

If you already have a good hunter gun, you might as well go ahead and start lusting after a good heavy gun. If you decide you just don't like shooting a heavy gun in the future, it will sell well as it is or you can build a great hunter from it. :)

That was an evil thing to say...

Happiness is a four ounce trigger...

When I was ready to step up, I had Neil Johnson install a forearm rail so I could use the 54-18 for position shooting.

Speaking of the red magazines - Homer Strickland sells the Aluminum bottom pieces that fit a savage magazine for $15 each - steel bed them to the savage magazine and you have $25 invested in what Neal Johnson sells for around $52. Anyone that wants some and are going to the Nationals I can bring some with me. Later.....John

John,

If these are the pieces that you showed me in Louisiana last weekend, I'd like to have 6, if it's not too much trouble.

I'll gather up as many of the magazine extensions as I can - I talked with Homer and he has packed all his stock into a large moving van and won't be able to get to them for several months. I think I have four or five that are attached to magazines that would be available. Take care.....John
