RT Silhouette Stocks
Just some information out there for silhouette community....
We are making stocks on the RT pattern designed by Mark Pharr. These are available currently and have about a 2 week lead time in uninletted blank form. If you want an inletted stock currently we ask that you send us the rifle and we will inlet the stock to match up. Price on the carbon fiber lightweight version of this stock is $325.00 in blank form with discounts available to FFL holders. These stocks are slightly lighter and stronger than the original robertsons stocks that mark was having made. We offer cerakote services to color the stock in your desired color or they can be left in the raw carbon look. Also they can be painted easily with any high quality paint.

That's great. Are you only offering the RT pattern for now? If so, will be you offering the RTS pattern in the future?

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
I had not planned on making the RTS pattern until recently, but we have had several inquiries about the RTS. If anyone interested in the RTS pattern would send me an email to [email protected] I will contact everyone with options. I do not currently have a mold for the RTS but I am willing to make one if there is enough demand for it.

Joel, do the silhouette community a favor and post pictures of you RT stocks. It would be interesting to see how your RT stocks compare to the ones Robertson made. How many RT stocks have you made?

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
Yes, I'd like to see some pictures as well. Do you have any that were done and left in carbon fiber alone and not painted as well?
If anyone has gotten one can you also post pictures and comment on it Vs the Robertson's we used to get.
Thanks in advance.

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
I would to share my pictures of my Pharr RT stock and experience with Sturtevant Arms /Bill’s Gun Shop in Pueblo Colorado. Well I should have known something was up when the gunhaker (not gunsmith) offered to deliver the stock at 10:30 PM on his way home from a business trip. I did quickly examine the stock before handing over the $550 for the stock, bedding, pillars and trigger guard. It looked to be alright at first glance so I closed up the gun case and went to bed. The next morning I found numerous flaws, defects and the absolutely the worst quality of work from some who calls them self a gunsmith. I called Bill on his cell phone (719) 248-6367 shortly after writing down all the flaws and defects and left a message. That was on December 15, 2013. I have left six voice messages and have not received a return call or an e-mail on how he is going to rectify the problems with stock and damages to the duracoat finish.
Bill and Joel thank you for giving me the opportunity to expose your shitty work to the steel chickens community and the rest of sporting arms community. You guys do not have enough balls to return my phone calls. Have gone to Trinidad and had them removed? Probably so. To the shooting community please let you friends know about these idiots.
See attached photos.

Wow, Guess that tells the story and leaves no doubt of the lack of quality of their work and why no response. Scratch them from the list of getting my business, Hope we can find someone good to start making these again, I really would like a carbon fiber stock
.
Thanks for posting Dave and sorry for all you have to go through to get a stock and now your rifle fixed too...

The silhouette community is fairly small, bend somebody over, cheat, sandbag, and just about everyone and their brother is going to know about it!

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
Wow. Dave doesn't get upset... like EVER. Maybe the lack of response is because of the holidays... I hope. Boy, some of that I was like "eh, that could be fixed... that could be fixed... that could be fixed.". Then I got to the bedding and the damage done to the rifle. I would be furious too. I am astounded that a COMPANY would deliver something like that. My very first bedding job ever looked better than that, and I didn't need a hammer to get the action out of the stock.
I hope they come through for you Dave. This is depressing. I would certainly expect a "learning curve" on a start-up company, but this is a little much and shouldn't have been delivered.

I am waiting to see what SturtevantArms has to say about the rifle..... I can imagine how dissapointed Dave is right now and I certainly would be too....
I do hope that the company will call Dave and do Whatever it takes to make things right.

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
If someone to whom I had entrusted a good rifle handed it back to me in that condition, then there is No Way in Hell that they would ever touch it again or anything else I owned.
Having perused the pictures, there is nothing at all that those creeps could say or write that would mitigate the damage that they did. There simply is no excuse. None.
The very least that they deserve is disgrace and bankruptcy, never getting the chance to screw over another trusting customer.
In more just times, they would be treated to a midnight party involving tar, feathers, and a rail.

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
Holy Mother of Jesus, who hacked into Dave's account??? I have never in all my time knowing Dave heard or read anything from him that is near as negative as this. He must be pissed!!! My wife knows a little of Dave's mild mannered and fair disposition and her mouth was agape when I read her Dave's post.
Then I saw the pictures and saw what caused his uncharacteristic response.
Who would have thought that a better product would come from China versus Pueblo, Colorado. There is no excuse for that stock or the bedding job!!!!

Re: RT Silhouette Stocks
What I don't understand from Colorado is did he buy a stock only, a complete rifle or give them his rifle to stock?
No defending or playing devils advocate and I know it's human nature to see the negative as opposed to the positive....
Can they make/supply a flat top of reasonable quality/price that will be bought knowing it'll be a painter?
The bedding in those pictues was sloppy and the getting in the actual action was wrong. All of the finish defects though
are easily curable with some spot putty and paint.
