Want to win a National Championship in 2014??

Post by dustinflint »

Well HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! Attached is the program and entry form for the 2014 NRA Air Rifle Silhouette National Championship on March 21-23, 2014 in Baton Rouge, LA. Print one out, fill it out, and come get your national championship!

I know what some of you are thinking: "I'd love to win a national championship, but Greg Connor is at all the national championship matches and I can't stand him." - Not to worry, Greg Connor is BANNED from the world class, airgun-only range here in Baton Rouge.

I know that some of you are also thinking: "I'd love to win a national championship, but Pat Steiger is going to be there and that guy is a real ass." - Again, not to worry, Pat has more kids than most people have rifles, and each of his kids brings at least three rifles, and each of his kids is a better shot than he is, and each of his kids requires that he do all the preperation and maintence on all their rifles, including his own; Pat barely comes out of his van at these matches - YOU PROBABLY WONT EVEN SEE HIM!!!

Still some of you are thinking: "I'd love to win a national championship, but Bill Motl and Elisabeth Steiger and Jerry Tureau and all of the other best airgun silhouette shooters in the WORLD are going to be there and they are REALLY good." - Well, that is true, and there is nothing we can do about that, but even if you dont win I GUARANTEE you will have some GREAT food and have a great time with a great group of people at the biggest and best airgun silhouette match in the world - come on down to Baton Rouge in March!!!

We tried that but your kids have too much clout in this game and they need transportation - they overruled us.

Elisabeth said that if you are not there she'll have to stop her long-runs at around 100 hits to keep on schedule. What's the fun in that?

3 of the kids can drive now, thank goodness. The newest driver drove halfway home from Zwolle. As soon as I teach them how to maintain their stuff, I have a feeling my checkbook will be the only thing keeping me around.......I'm sure that's why you haven't banned me. The entry fees for 5 or 6 is no small sum. Your mom says you need to be nicer to me.

we are looking forward to it this year. Nice range, great food. The best people around.

Looking forward to this one! Great People! Great Food! We shot a lot of matches in the area when gas and ammo were cheap.
We are hosting a warmup Match in Rankin County, MS. the Saturday before the Nationals.

Are the local monthly or weekly matches in Baton Rouge held at this same Fairgrounds range?

Yes, our monthly matches are held at the Fairgrounds range on the second Saturday of the month (although at some time this year we are going to move it to the second Sunday of the month)

We also have a Wednesday evening match at the Fairgrounds range every week during Daylight Savings Time when we have more daylight (or regular time, whatever the opposite of this crappy time is).

Dustin, I cannot speak for Elisabeth but has Bill and Jerry just about eliminated themselves from being a top shooters? Are they not getting pretty old :)) ? I mean they are almost super senior and their skills failing off?

So with Pat busy with kids and fixing rifles, Bill and Jerry old, it is time for a new top shooter right? What is wrong with my logic?

Just saying.........

Dustin - What are your suggestions for hotels in the area? Do you have special arrangements set up with any of them?

Heidi I don't think we have made any arrangement with any hotels but I will look into the some of them close to the range and see if they are willing to offer any special rates for the match and post back here. I can't think of which would be best right off the top of my head as I never stay in hotels locally  There are several close by though that aren't to expensive even at normal rates. Give me a few days and I will try to get more info and propose a few of the better choices for those coming in from out of town. Hope to see you there!

Me and Baby Huey will be staying in Pat's van down by the river. Don't come a knockin.

There is a name I have not seen in a while; Baby Huey.

Is it true he spent time incarcerated for male prostitution?
