WTB Marlin 336CB 30-30

Looking for a Marlin 336CB 30-30 in excellent condition.

Bob259- I have a Marlin 336 Cowboy with the Octagon 24" barrel, not for sale. The bore is oversized and only shoots .310 cast bullets accurately. I use Lazer Cast 170 gr. bullets with a gas check added for rams, running just over 1900 fps. This load seems to be max. with that bullet and still maintains good accuracy, about 4" at 200 meters. That load has been only about 50% effective on rams at the 200 meter distance. When I tried jacketed bullets, I only got about 6" groups at 100 yds. I thought I would inform you of my experience before you invest heavily in a Marlin Cowboy in .30-30. My Marlin Cowboy in .38-55 is a big bore also, using .380 dia. Lazer Cast bullets. However it is very effective on rams with a gas checked bullet at about 1700 fps. Hope my experience helps you with your decision.

I have 4-5 laying around but they aren't for sale either, the windage knobs on the sights are excellent by the way, hope this helps ya also!
