Globe height for 39a?

Centerfires, rimfires, pistol cartridges and everything in between.

Globe height for 39a?

Post by cedestech »

I know there is a search function but after reading a few posts I got lazy....

Just installed a Lyman rear sight, 66MC. Looks like it'll work fine with the factory hooded bead but it would be nice to get it up a little higher. Anyone have a recommendation
for the front Lyman globe height and part number.... ?

If your 39A has a ramp front sight, you will need the .404 high globe.

It's a '64 model. You mean the base that screws to the barrel and has the dovetail cut into it? Looks like I'll drive the beaded blade out and drift in the globe.

,404 is my huckleberry?

Right you are. Leave the ramp, drive out the dovetailed bead and replace with the .404 globe sight.

Proceed with caution on driving it out of the ramp though... it's a bit fragile... ask me how I know X(

You may need a #2 sludge. Knock out from the right to left insert from left to right. Someone please verify if I'm correct with the take out and installation procedure.
