Starnge People

Post by glen ring »

Most of us take road trips for business and pleasure. Are there any members in your party that attract strange people? I have always been a tactical person and even in retirement I have a CCW permit for anywhere in the United states so is it that I'm always looking and make eye contact with these strange folks that attracts them to me ? Do any of your group attract the same type person? it seems at every truck stop that guy approaches me and asks for the time, a dollar etc...

As long as they don't approach you and ask.."how much" you should not worry..... :P

I've had the occasional prostitute hit on me and I don't mind someone working for a living trying to sell anything they've grown...Just the damn crazy people seem to flock to me. I think I make eye contact with them first and they take that as some kind of OK sign. I love all people, but the strange ones that can't take ignoring them as a sign to go away get on my nerves. Politically incorrect statements have never offended me in any way .

Actually I get the same stuff all the time, Glen.

I have no clue why "those people" seem to want to talk to me.....

Perfect pic for a caption contest!

I can see something like.... "Do these shirt tassels make me look fat?" =))

I believe the shirt says "panic button" on it. I don't think it needs much more caption than that... :))

Eye contact is a problem? Only in some animal families, like roosters. As for the panic button picture, isn't that Olga? Remember guys at least she has some clothes on.

I've spent some time in NYC over the last two years and found the perfect way to deal with annoying people asking for some change and other odd request. When approached just start speaking in a strange language. I don't mean Spanish or French just make something up as you go along. I use some of my Slovak phrases mixed with gibberish. Works all the time. They are not going to waste their valuable panhandling time with someone that doesn't speak or understand English.

Good song Dee!!! I may try PPKNY's method of talking gibberish. It appears that simply ignoring some of these fools or telling them that they are bothering you seems to spur them on. I'll try the gibberish approach next time.
