Tikka T3 Varmint 20 or 24 inch, ideal balance point?
Hi all,
I am looking at getting a Tikka T3 Varmint in 7mm08 but am still unsure of what sized barrel to get.
I will be using it for both hunter and silhouette class which is possible with a light scope.
Where is the ideal balance point? Would the 24 be too muzzle heavy for 80 shot competitions? The T3 varmints have a synthetic stock which I will be sticking with, but this means they will be lighter than a wood stock so it should feel even more muzzle heavy.
Does anyone have any experience with the 20 and 24 inch varmint models? I’m primarily concerned with the balance point of the rifle and to a lesser extent, muzzle blast from the 20 inch.
Thanks

I'd get the 24-inch barrel. Muzzle weight is a good thing. Also the longer barrel is a little better in highpower as long as the rifle makes weight.
