Southern Nationals Late Fees
Everyone,
The entry form for both the smallbore and air rifle matches at the Southern Nationals mention a late fee for entries after a certain date. I don't like late fees. They remind me of taxes in that you pay a lot of money and get nothing in return. I just paid my taxes and I'm sure many of you did, too and probably aren't in the mood to pay more to shoot a silhouette match (even though the match will TOTALLY be worth it).
So, since I don't like late fees, and I am the match director, I'm getting rid of them. If you send in an entry, please don't include a late fee. If you register at the match, no late fee will be charged (pre-registration is still very much appreciated)
Match fees are:
Smallbore: $50 total
Air Rifle: $25 total
Party: $75
See you in Winnsboro!
Dustin

Very good of you to eliminate the late fees. I also hate late fees but there is always an advantage for those running the matches to have the best information available regarding how many participants are going to show up. It's also best sooner than later.
Another way to handle that is to offer a standard entry fee for the events but then offer an early registration DISCOUNT. I like discounts and like the sound of "discount" but it accomplishes the exact same thing. It gives shooters a incentive to register early without any of those nasty "late fees". It works.

I agree with all that. That's why I waited until the week before to let everyone know that the late fee would be waived ;) We VERY MUCH appreciate the folks who got their entries in early, but it's hard to discount the match fees any more than they already are.
Regardless of when you sign up, we are looking forward to having everyone in Winnsboro next week!

Dustin,
I think you missed my point. The early "Discount" fee is really your standard match fee and the "Standard" non-discount fee, after the "discount" time has passed, is really your late fee price. All you're doing is changing the terms but still giving the shooters the incentive to register early so they can get their "discount".
Just a thought.

PhxShooter you must realize that Dustin is an attorney and not attuned to the finer points of business acumen! Such as charging the Standard Fee for the "Early Discount" and the Standard Fee PLUS the Late Fee for registration after a certain date. Sort of like Sam's Club with the huge quantities you have to buy! Plus they charge you a Membership Fee to buy in large quantities at regular prices!
That is why Jerry and I retired. We are not doing ANYTHING! Except drink beer and give away a lot of great prizes to all Party participants! Oh, Jerry and I also cooked up 10 gallons of chili for the contest! We may even do a gumbeaux if we need more food for the masses. We an aways bribe the three judges!
