Wow!

Post by Mike Sporer »

chunter,

WOW - great job! The silhouette community owes you a big "Thank You" for putting this together, and fast!

I don't know what to say about color coding. Most ranges offer more than one discipline so going by that you'd have more colors than a fancy Easter egg. A lot of ranges also offer approved and registered matches, but maybe only 1 registered vs. 6 or more approved, so which color would they get? Maybe one color for NRA approved&registered clubs and one for non-affiliated clubs? This way folks know where to go to get scores in their books and where to go just for fun.

Again, Great Job!

Sincerely,

I should be caught up with what has been sent in so far. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Casey Again.... THANKS from all of us and a GREAT JOB!!! Now if we can get it as a sticky under the Club House, or better yet it's own heading called 'Places to shoot' and put the map link and link to Shooting Sports USA that would be fantastic. We also need to get the other clubs (I know there are some more in NC and AZ I didn't see) that are missing to get the data to you we will have a super site with a complete listing on places to shoot Silhouette.

Hmmm...with the directions and all right there this may mean more road trips in the near future... boy the wife will love that :wink:

Great idea and great job. I did notice an error and omission, both in PA. Tiadaghton's web address is spelled wrong and they hold all the cowboy shoots. Consolidated Sportsmen also holds high power and the bigbore cowboy. Not trying to nit pick just help. I think there are a couple of clubs that hold shoots in western PA. I'll try to track them down. Thanks.

Phoenix, AZ area matches I know of:
------------------------------------------------
Rio Salado Sportsman's Club
3960 N Usery Pass Road, in Mesa AZ

Latitude = 33.4889, Longitude = -111.6230
Lat = 33 degrees, 29.3 minutes North
Long = 111 degrees, 37.4 minutes West

Coordinates are located right between the highpower and smallbore ranges.

HP Sil-3rd Sunday of the month 9:30am
Smallbore-the preceeding Saturday 9:30am

------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben Avery Shooting Facility
4044 W. Black Canyon Boulevard
Phoenix, Arizona 85086-7043
(home of the Hassayampa Rod and Gun Club's matches)

Silhouette range:
Latitude = 33.8052, Longitude = -112.1522
Lat = 33 degrees, 48.3 minutes North
Long = 112 degrees, 9.1 minutes West

Smallbore 4th Sunday of month 9:30am
HP 2nd Sunday 9:30am

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both are NRA Sanctioned Matches and facilities and dates are a general rule of thumb dependent upon facility and clubs scheduling........

This will be a GREAT addition to the site and thank you for suggesting/spearheading it guys!!!!
Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!

Thanks Mav,

I made the changes you found. I appreciate you spending the time to make sure it is accurate.

Thanks again,

Steve, and everyone who has sent in silhouette locations and updates, THANK YOU!! I should be close to having all the updates and locations that have been sent to me in.

I know we are still missing quite a few, in the west, Canada, Africa, Ireland, and Australia. We might as well throw those on also, you never know when you will just happen to be there with the itch to shoot some steel.

Also, one thing I noticed is that google doesn't show all the locations on the same page, we have too many for one page. To see all the locations on the map you have to go to page 2. I am trying to find a work around to this so that all locations show on the map at the same time.

Please keep sending in locations or fixes to the data that is in now, or any ideas on how to make it better.

Thanks again.

Casey

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the Missoula info, I can't believe I forgot it. Also I don't have the Cody Wyoming info, do you know if they are still shooting?

I am trying to get back into it, been too long, starting to get out of practice.

Thanks,

Casey
