My most fun shootoff in silhouette yet...

The shootoff that Matt (Shakes on here) and I had after yesterday's highpower silhouette match at Pe Ell, WA (site of the Conard Cup), was the most fun I've had in a shootoff since I started shooting silhouette. Many thanks to Steve Wooster and Gary Malmberg and crew, who always run a great match, and especially to Matt. I think it took us 6 or 7 shots on highpower turkeys to decide the shootoff. Matt shot great and I got lucky on two of them to stay in the sudden death shootoff with him. I'm glad it got decided then, as I only had 9 extra CPT rounds after the match and was running out.

I hope to see you all plus a whole lot more back there in a couple weeks for the Conard Bernhard Cup!

Good times I went 15 rounds in a shootoff in Zwolle two years ago on Rams for 2nd place at my first big HP match besides the little local one I had shot to get classified. Ran out of ammo I tossed in my vest pocket after 7 rounds thinking it would be decided by then one way or another, I was wrong. Sent my spotter running to the tent for the ammo box for more rounds, both of us in the shootoff were starting to wonder after 10 shots if we had enough ammo to decide it. Bringing a extra 30 Ram loads to Arkansas this weekend just in case I end up there again. Was in a shootoff with JJP up there last year for 1st and that one ended after the first shot thankfully.

Both will always be remembered, one for the length and all the cheering as we would each hit one or miss or ring one back and forth with everyone hooting and hollering behind us after every shot as we got 5 shots into it. The other for the shot I made against JJP that seemed like slow motion as the dot settled right on my spotters call and toppled the Ram dead center. After being sick all weekend I was exhausted after that long one as I counted all the brass on the bench I had shot and relieved it was actually over. By the 10th round between the heat of the day bringing out the mirage and the hot barrel the Ram looked to be behind a water wall.

Glad I could be helpfull Jason That was one of the funner shoot off's I've had as well. I only had 10 rounds left and when we got to the 6th or 7th shot I was thinking "Damm when is he gonna miss, I only got four rounds left". When I missed that last shot I didnt even watch yours, I just closed my eyes and waited for the wwhhhaaappp of the bullet hitting the turkey. One of my favorite shoot offs was with Dennis Martinen for the smallbore standard state match win. I couldnt believe I had shot good enough to be their with him at the end of the match. It was one of the most nerve racking experiences to date Dennis won, but to be up thier with one of the greatest silhouhette shooters ever was awesome.

You guys made it look fun. I always sweat bullets (no pun intended) in shoot offs even if they're against Harry! Hey why do I always end up shooting off with Harry? What's up with that. Ok, or Carl Dunning.
