WTB Silhouette smallbore target set

Post by Merlin »

Looking to buy a high quality set of 1/5 Silhouette targets. Could/would someone point me in the right direction. New or used does not really matter. Partial set OK if I can replace the missing ones.....

Thanks for looking...... :)

Hey Sancho

Thanks for your guidance.

Nice looking product and the price seems right enough... So, is the A36 as good of steel as you need for a rimfire? Curious as to the advantage or disadvantage of buying the higher priced cast iron targets.....

FWIW, when the plate steel breaks you can get it repaired. When the cast breaks, your pretty much over...

I have been shooting silhouette since 1978 and have used mild steel welded targets and the cast targets. In 2000 I purchased 50 of each of the cast animals. We have matches 10 months out of the year and for a couple of years shot them every Wednesday night during daylight saving. During all this time I have replace about 15 chickens. I had one turkey and one ram break and the vendor replaced them no charge. The only reason that the vendor did not replace the chickens was that after 6 years they were no longer in business. I replaced them with the following vendor and have not had to replace an animal in over 5 years. Ray's target especially the chickens are reinforced around the leg and so far I have never had one break. I can guarantee if you by A36 mild steel that they will bend and end up breaking over time and no one will replace them for free.

Check out this web site for what I think are the best smallbore targets made.

There you go that's my 2 cents worth.

I have Quality Targets (one set for smallbore, one set for air rifle) and am very pleased with them. I made bases out of 6x6 material to set them in when I shoot. Topclass
