30-30 Lever Action
I just shot my first match with my dad's old Marlin 39, had a blast!
Now I'm thinking I'd like to find a matching 30-30 (24"bbl, pistol grip). What should I be looking for?
Can anyone here direct me to one?

Look for an old Marlin model 336A (not the current production version)
Or
Winchester 64 or 64A
Good luck!

As a general rule Marlins "A" means full rifle longer barrel pistol grip no barrel band. 336A is the one to have. I shoot a 36A 30/30 forerunner of the 336 square bolt not round. Sweet trigger weighs more than the short carbines. Think it was made 1947

Fine a nice 1950's era 336A, it will have the 24" barrel, pistol grip stock, ususally have nice triggers without having to screw with them. Might figure on paying around $400.00 or so.
