what yardage should you zero your scope at for silhouette?

I always set my zero to chickens, and test the elevation at each distance for the different ranges and different days.

Generally you need to put a shim between the rear scope ring bottom and the scope. The shim can be aluminum from a beer can or I always use thin credit card plastic. Chickens are the zero, and generally a good starting point would be + 2 moa for pigs, +4 moa for turkeys from the chicken 0 reference, and + 8 for the rams. This will put you on the paper and you can adjust from there.

2 thickness of a beer can usualy gets you more than you need. I cut one about 1 1/4 inch long and the other about 3/4 inch long and use a little dab of rubber cement to hold them in place when I set the scope into the rings.

After a considerable amount of testing with a number of scopes, tracking becomes iffy when adjusting elevation in the last revolution of the elevation turret. For best tracking the scope should be setup so at pigs or turkeys (both SB & HP) the elevation is in the middle of travel. Windage should also be setup so the windage turret is in the middle of travel.
