New here, but I'm hoping you can help. I go to the range during the week when nobody is there and set up my rimfire silhouettes and have fun. I don't shoot in competition, but I like knocking them down. The scope on my rifle is not much of a scope and I have been offered a Weaver T-10 with a dot made back in the early '80's. I like the 10 power ( 20x - 24x is too much for me ). My question is, is this Weaver a well made scope or have the scopes improved enough over the last thirty years that I should buy a new one. If a new one which one, Leupold, Sightron, Weaver, Burris. I have no idea, so I thought I would asked you fellas. What is your opinion on these older T series Weavers. How do you guys like the dot setup? Thank you all very much. RRM

Weaver T-10 with a dot

Good old scope. Dot are preferred, If in good shape, less than $200., buy it.......

The old steel tube Weaver's are great. Not as visually clear as some others but the tracking system is superior to most scopes. The 10x is a very good option.

My first Silhouette scope was a T10 on my HP rifle T16 on Small-bore. Still have both now on Varmint rifles. While the newer Leupold’s are brighter and waterproof Old Weaver T's had in my mind better tracking and parallax adjustments. Silhouette daytime on a target range you don't need wonderful optics but do need repeatable adjustments

Like X Pilot said 200 bucks jump on it. Have seen them sell for as much as 300 on EBay. You would have to go to new Asian Weavers at over 300 to do better. If not new Weaver then Leupold for even more money
