Re: Molested 1712 on RFC
Well, she arrived and I ran down to the range as fast as I could for a little testing...
2 5-shot groups. Group size is ok, but man it makes a hole...

32 points- and no X's out of a possible 120x12x , hope it can do better than that!! ha ha
What was the range, how big is the 10 ring?
How does the trigger and action look?

Hey Mike
Most of use only use 5 shots in a 5 shot group not 6.
What distance?
Are you coming to Tacoma this weekend?

Group/pattern was at chickens, the kid will have to shoot at the pistol targets until he gets it rebarreled.

Dang it. I'm not very good with computers. It keeps posting the wrong picture.
This should be the right one.

Re: Molested 1712 on RFC
Now for some REAL test targets.
Millet rings, Sightron SIII on 24X power.
40m, SK Std Plus, crappy leather bag as a rest.

100m, SK Std Plus, crappy leather bag turned on its side as a rest.

I'm content. It'll work for the kids' gun until he's big enough to need a longer barrel.
The condition of the gun was like-new. I tinkered with the trigger some to get some 2nd stage and weight back in it, but I think it may have had the spring swapped out as it still feels light to me. (Confirmed - I compared the 2nd stage spring to another 1712 and it's appreciably lighter weight.)

Bob, I've got an Achiever that will be retired now because of this 1712. I have a cut-down 64 too but the wood has been modified to death... Anyhow, if you have any interest, let me know as I'm going to put them up pretty soon.

I have a Remington 521 Jr and may get drilled and tapped for a scope for her, just not a fan of the triggers on them.mordecai wrote:Bob, I've got an Achiever that will be retired now because of this 1712.
