If an interstate sale, I will have to send the firearm to an FFL of your choosing, I'm in pennsylvania, if your not, it'll have to go to an FFL of your choosing. I may pay for those transfer fees depending on what your FFL is going to charge, if anything extra over the standard fee of $5.00 here in Pa.


In order to ease the minds of the seller (me), the buyer (you) and the admin of this site, I have also spoke with the ATF, there is nothing illegal about this occasional sale either inter or intra state.

The rifle is a 26" heavy barreled mdl 700, the barrel is actually tapered just past the receiver, which IMO looks nicier and definately is lighter than a full blown bull barrel. The stock has a mossy oak brush finish to it, it's actually pretty attractive. The finish of the metal is a matte black parkerized type of look. The recoil pad is actually pretty "squishy" and seems that it would do a good job of reducing felt recoil.

Basically, it's the same receiver, action, bolt, barrel, and trigger as the remington long distance and tactical modeled rifles.

The trigger is a X mark from Remington, I did not play with mine yet, but according to Remington, it adjusts from 3 to 5 pounds, surely there is something on the net to make it lighter if you want to do a search on it. The bolt is able to be opened when on safety so that you can onload without too much fear of the rifle going off.

It is an ADL, so there is no detachable magazine, the magazine is inside, you have to load and unload through the top of the action.

The scope is a 4-12X 40mm, rings and bases also included.

Which twist rate on the 308 and 223?
Which rifling? 5R would be nice?

My BDL 308 version of this 700 weighs 11 pounds 2 ounces in a HS Precision stock with scope and without sling or bipod.
It is not a Silhouette rifle but I can tell you it is worth "toting" the weight. These particular 700's are like candy. I cannot get enough of them. Got to take a look at the piggy bank.

on the specs tab the twists:
.308 = 1:12
.223 = 1:12

i think they got the weight wrong, they're claiming 8.5 lbs, which i think is a little light for what they feel like, so i don't know if they're twist rate is accurate. i'm get it weighed at the post office to make sure of the weight.

at the post office, the rifle, box and other contents came in at 14lbs. a doubt the box and scope and instructions weighed 6.5 lbs, i think you are accurate with 11lbs neighborhood.

whether or not the twists are innaccurate on the site, i don't know.

I think that factory weight of around 9 pounds is accurate with that factory stock. For my .308 that 11 pounds 2 ounces is actual weight (on a scale tested by standards) with leupold "permanent" rings/bases, Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical 6-24X SF one time production run scope, HS Precision stock, no sling and no bipod. I am guessing Bushnell might have been trying to get the government contract that Premier won with the Schmidt and Bender. Sorry for the thread drift but shortly after you carry one of these rifles in the field you start wondering how much it really weighs.
