ONLINE SANCTIONING...thumbs up!

i just went through the NRA online sanctioning of oour smallbore silhouette matches for the first time, it was actually pretty easy, quite convienant, and took very little time.

there's also a tab to check out the status of the submission. hopefully there will not be any glitches and there system actually works!

I did this the last two years for our club. I had my materials in a week. Now we need online jury reporting. I got three nasty grams this week for matches I did report. Al Foust

yes i agree with that. in this day and age, along with keeping costs low (postage) and reducing the amount of time to do the paperwork, an online reporting for ALL the neccessary reports would be the greatest (jury report, grand slam, accident reports, scores, classification books, etc).

i've tried to do online reporting of scores last season and the season before per the silhouette dept's instructions, but it appears no one checks the email there, as i sent a scanned filled out jury report too, but a week later i received a similar nasty gram too in both instances, so i stopped doing it.

when i do send in a jury report, i always put in the comments that online reporting of all reports should be implemented with snail mail still available for those that want to do it that way. perhaps it's a lobby that other match directors can do to promote the online everything.

even sales of classification books....i don't know if the NRA knows about this thing called paypal, but the cover's serial number for sales or left overs can be turned in along with payment that way.

it would also be nice to have a nationwide or regional ranking of shooters once reported so folks can see how they are doing in the "big picture", but baby steps first i guess.

This shouldn't be hard to do, as they already have the programs. I get my NRA light rifle, international pistol, Bullseye Pistol classifications already, so they have the means the Silhouette Dept just needs to determine how to get it going for them as the basic tools are already there. I had great hopes with Jonathan being there and what he was doing, but now that he's left we are left with being in the stone age again till someone else comes on board that is a forward thinker and has the motivation to make changes happen.
