WTB - 3 Scopes for 3 Kids

A buddy of mine has gotten his 3 youngsters interested in shooting our little sport - that's the Good News!

Bad news is: He needs 3 of the "same" scopes so there won't be any fighting over who has the "best" scope or anything of the like!!!

What y'all got sittin' around needing to be sold to the future of the sport?
If you got all 3 - GREAT! If you only have 2 - that's fine (might could find one more to go with it)! If you only have 1, no problem, I would just need to find 2 more willing folks with the same.

Let this start a collection of what's out there (that a fellow could buy 3 of at once)! Let's not go crazy with the $500+ each scope, because the buddy says that aint gonna happen!
Let's keep the price below $400 (each) if at all possible (even lower is better)!!! We all know the usual names, so let's hear what you got. Don't forget about some that are not the best, but track fine - I've heard some OK reports about a few of the Barska scopes. Before you jump on me for talking about that possibility, it's not my money and I'd sure hate to by $1,200 worth of scope in this economy! Just saying it's ok to stand in the box but still look just outside it!!

Those Barska 6.5-20x50mm with the Target Dot are a great cheapie scope I paid like $45 for mine. I still have one I used years ago sitting in a drawer. Sorry I don't have 3 of them.. But that thing held up to two years of constant multiply rotation crankings on the elevation knob on my 10m rifle and never seemed to loose its track. They are a mixed bag and you might have to return one or more to get good ones. but they are decent for the $ and kids.

If you want to spend less than $400 I would get Bushnell Elites in 6-24X with the Target Dot. Using the rebate they are offering right now you could probably get them for around $350 or so from a dealer like Chicken George. Then you could always sell them in the future and get pretty much all your money back if the kids don't get into it. Also the Weaver V-Series 6-24 would fall under the $400 range. Not much has a decent target dot reticle in it for $100-300ish. Mueller makes some in the $200 range IIRC but I haven't heard about how well they work.

Unless the kids are all fairly big and strong, weight on the rifles is going to be a definite issue. Those Bushnell Elites have some good glass, but are really heavy. I'd advise him to go with three of the Weaver V16 or V24 models. I put a V16 with the dot reticle on my daughter's rifle and she loves it.

Look at the Weaver 6.5-20X44AO, it's their classic line 40/44 series. VERY nice for the $.

Sorry in advance, I only have 2 - Leupold 12x Golden Ring Scopes (great starter scope for kids). Yes, they have some use, but they've been to Leupold for Silhouette Size Target Dots and a Checkover. Not mounted since their return from Leupold. I did have a third one on my CZ rifle that recently sold. I have a Simmons Aetec Master series 4x14x44 ill duplex SF I would sell cheap new in box if interested
