Anschutz 1712 with single stage trigger?

Post by Jetmugg »

I just received a 1712 FWT Thursday. It's a beautiful rifle, silky smooth action, and has the 2-stage trigger. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but will early next week. (I'm working the 3rd shift, weekend night crew right now). At least I can think about shooting it until the weekend is over.

Something that puzzled me a little was the markings on the end of the box that this rifle was packed in. The label on the end of the box is marked 1712D FWT and is also marked "single stage trigger". As I noted above, this rifle has the 2-stage trigger.

It has been my understanding that all of the 1712's use the 2-stage trigger. Am I correct in this assumption? If anyone else has their original boxes from a 1712 purchase, does it also read "single stage trigger"?

The rifle is perfect in every way, but I was a bit confused by the markings on the factory label.

Steve,
I, just today, received a new 1712FWT. It has the two stage trigger. I went and looked at the box, and it has "two stage trigger" on it. I bought my rifle from Champions Choice. It was the last one they had. It has the Tan and Green McMillan stock and has been pillar bedded by them. I will get to shoot it tomorrow and will shoot a match with it, over at the Austin Rifle Club, on Sunday. I bought a slightly used 1712FWT a few years back, but it didn't have a two stage trigger on it. I bought it for resale and didn't even shoot it. Everything I have heard about the 1712FWT rifles has been positive. I'm sure this rifle will be just as accurate as the rest.

1712

Steve,
Not all 1712 comes with the double stage triggers. I know some distributors will change the stock, and also the trigger to meet the customers specifications.
