Iron Man Dennis

Post by rogersptl »

Thanks for posting the results. Seeing as the 10's are not pointed out---I'm told that Dennis Martinen toppled all 10 rams in HP hunter to earn his Grand Slam award. Anyone have an idea how many have completed this? Are there even 10 with the HP-H GS? Congratulation Dennis. Best wishes.

Has to be more than 10 I would imagine over all these years. If Dennis got his this month that would make the 2nd one I have heard or seen completed in 3 months since Pharr got his 10 Turkeys in Arkansas back in April but after 23 years trying so hmm maybe there are only 10 or so. I'd heard there weren't many Slams in Sporter Air RIfle less than 20 total awhile back.

Anyone know where the list is of who has them in what rifle catagory and what all the long run records are as they set right now? Does such a listing even appear online anyplace?

Dee,

I got grand slam number 13 in Sporter air rifle about 2 months ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are less than 20 in high power.

The Long Run Records are on the NRA site - hopefully this link will work http://www.nrahq.org/compete/natl_records.asp
I have not seen any listing of Grand Slam attainment, either partial or complete. Don't know what they spend all the money we send them on, but it's not POSTING Grand Slams! They do seem to track them and send out Grand Slam Pins, right?

Eventually, although I do know of two forms that were lost, as I still had my copy.

Make that three, Mary. The NRA has a political side and a shooting side. If the political side was as incompetent as the shooting side, no one would have a gun. I noticed in the Shooting Sports that Krei was gone. One clown down and one to go.

I haven't had any get lost, but I had a couple of the forms take a long time to get processed and the letter for them get back to me. Overall though, all four of the grand slams that I have and the legs into the others have gotten done eventually with little issue. In the spirit of full disclosure, I usually forget about them until the letter/pin shows up in the mail so I don't really keep track, waiting by the mailbox every day.
