I beat the Arizona state HP champ.
Only because he was not shooting so hot today. We had only seven guys for our monthly HP match. Much cooler temps came in over night, it was 50 degrees at 8am and quite windy most of the day. It got warmer for the afternoon hunter gun match but still PIA winds out of the NE. Dave and I chose not to use our good match guns today instead going for our CRC windy conditions rifles. Why wear out good barrels tossing bullets into the dirt. Dave used a M700 .260 and I had my Remington barreled Ruger M77 in 7-08 and a Leupold 12x with knobs. Dave shot a 21 for the match win to my 20 in standard rifle. Things got better for me with the hunter gun. I shot a 29 for the match win to his 25.
Hey Hambone, that was snow in that photo from a storm yesterday. It was all melted by this morning.

Sorry I missed it, had a party today at my house for three birthdays this week.
I heard there was some target ringing today with the wiener guns, oh that's to bad-ha-ha. ;)

Yeah Kevin, the boys were getting some ram losses during practice but none during the match that I am aware of. That NE wind was holding some of them up. I even lost one with a 175 Hornady hit in low in the heart/chest area. Mine and most of the losses were on the right end of the rails with more exposure to the wind. I was spotting for a shot on a pig, the one farthest to the right. It did not even blink when hit with a 6.5 123gr.SMK two inches over the rear leg. Must have been the wind holding it up , too.

Bob McAlice shot a great hunter rifle match!! Note: Jim Beckly that score is a master class score. The Guru had his mojo working yesterday. You got to love a guy who promises to you a beat down before the match starts and then does what he promised.
(Kyler M. you need to talk to the Guru for advice on smack talking.)
I rang a pig with a 123 SMK yesterday; it was a low belly shot 2 inches in near the back leg. That is the first time for me a 123 SMK failed to knock down a pig. Was it a poorly constructed bullet or the wind holding the pig? I shot 129 SST's Hornady's out of my 260 for the match they seem to be more wind sensitive than the 123 SMK's. I also used 140 SST's on the rams losing one ram in practice with a well-centered hit. No rams where lost during the standard and hunter rifle matches.

Man, you guys are killing me! I can't believe I am missing CO high power matches. Phuck!
Nice job on the Master score Bob!! Why didn't you bring that game to AZ last month? Thanks for the photos. To bad you guys couldn't have a day with no wind.

Boner, The only words of comfort that I can deliver is the fact that after the match it wasn't you that went home and put on an apron of some sorts and finished the house hold chores.
Mary, Any scores from the El Paso match?
McAlice, Maybe before you start shooting at rams, you should go down snd blow some smoke up their ass about all the ballistic data, bullet smashing and filing you boys did!

JB....the high score for the weekend was Willie Z's 29 in the last match. Mostly in the low 20's down, 24mph to 40 mph gusting, called the afternoon match on Saturday. We were going to do a 60 shot Hunter on Sunday, but even that got cut back to a 40 shot. William won the travelling trophy. Teresa E won standard rifle with a 23 on Sat, if I remember correctly. Great match, even better food, but the wind kind of slowed the whole process down, Jerry Tureau has a new respect for the low class West Texas shooters, now that he barely made it into the high teens and low twentys with his effort.

Goo Roo, before you do JB's smoke trick, set up a camera so all of us can watch.

Malinois, sounds like you kicked ass at the Sunshine Games, wish I had been there but the big boom is always a nicer sound! Besides Jerry Tureau was there trying to teach the Indians and Mexicans how to cook...great descada and jumbalaya mixed on Sunday.
