My first match in real wind I found the wind blowing against me had more effect than the wind on the travelling bullet, especially if I was wearing baggy cloths to camoflage my rather robust figure . Now I wear lycra tights or a speedo if the weather allows.

Never have a problem with other shooters trying to crowd me either.

wind

I was at the SB Nationals in Milroy, PA awhile back and watched Troy Lawton shot the wind so to speak. Waiting was the key and than take advantage of the lull.
He waited almost 1 and 1/2 minuets, gun on shoulder and ready before he took a shot. The wind briefly stopped and bam, bam, bam etc. he took all five shoots as quick as he could.
I learned a big lesson that day. Don't fight it.

Hey LR, I would have like to have met you this weekend in Phx (heck, I may have......).

I missed the windy day Saturday but came out Sunday.

I think I was the match loser on Sunday, the weight I added to the forend of my stock broke free on the rams (second animal for me) and I had to pull my stock in the middle of the match to get it out. Then the rifle was lighter up front, then I actually missed all the pigs for some unknown reason. But I had fun, and I'll keep coming back!
Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!
