Excuse my ignorance but is this a variable that's been boosted to 14.5-35 or a fixed 14.5 power scope with a 35mm objective? What's the shortest distance the objective will focus to?

Thanks for the help with the photos Jason.
40 meters is about as close as I have used it with and it was very clear.
Yeap, 6.5x20x40 bumped by Premier to 14.5x35

Alan, do you know exactly how much it weights? I might be interested if it can make weight on my HP rifle. What size is the dot and how would you rate the clarity of the glass in it? I am going to get a FX3 30x new and be done with it otherwise I am thinking.

Let me know...

Is the warranty still good with the Premier addition? Some say yes and some say no.

My Premier boosted scope had a reticle failure, the vertical crosshair fell off. I called Leupold twice and two different techs gave me the same answer: Leupold won't touch the scopes, not even to remove the Premier mod. Apparently the epoxy used to attach the lens module is too difficult to work with. I haven't had much success getting hold of Premier Reticles to see if they'll do a repair.

My scope weighs 18 ounces. The Premier module obviously doesn't weigh much at all.

I don't know of anyone else who's had a failure of a modded scope and there's lots of them out there.

Steve, when was it that you contacted Leupold? The way I understand it is that there has been a recent change to the policy.

How hard is it to take the booster lens out bringing it back to its original state allowing Leupold to once again accept it?

Well,
I have two other premier bumped scopes and they run flawless.
Premier will service the scope as I was looking at a MK2 16x fixed Don Walker of Beeman was selling however he had the field of focusing reduced for air rifle field target shooting and would not focus out past 40 yards. I told this story to Premier and they could unscrew something in the scope and it would put the focusing range back outto 40 and beyond for $50.00. I passed and bought a 16x50 mk 4 it sits on my Sako trg...
The weight I pmed to Dee it is 17.96 ounces.

Alan..I hate extend this discussion in the middle of your sale, but I just got off the phone with Premier and they will not do work on their boost modules. They no longer have the tools or expertise to do those repairs and refer you to TK lee Reticles. Mr. Lee is reluctant to commit to working on power-boosted scopes, but said he would possibly do the repair if I sent it in to look at. I'd already talked to Leupold in December and January, but I called today again and their policy has not changed. They won't touch Premier boosted scopes.

There are lots of these boosted scopes out there and I've never heard of a failure other than my own. I'm sure yours will provide many years service to a new owner. Repair is going to be problematic if there is ever a need.

Steve,
I have had a Premier boosted worked on in the last 4 months, due to operator error ( a scope loaned to an individual that felt he knew about optics). I have not tried to send one to Leupold but have been told that those that have sent them to Leupy, that they are returned to orignal configuration. I was told originally by Premier that they do not work on them and yet they were willing to repair this one.

I have not had problems with my Premier boosted scopes yet, and am only aware of one more other than the one you mention that has had a problem.

One day at Band camp....

Seems like these comments should be in the scope section not here...
Lowered price again...someone must be willing to take the risk on a bumped scope.
Their value is certainly falling here...
