Ultimate trigger pull gauge.

One of our engineers in the plant needed to know the force it took to engage an assembly we made here last week. I made some of the parts to it. He had to buy this new force gauge from a local supplier, cost $600. Me who has nothing but guns on my mind 24/7/365 immediately saw a better use for this contraption. I borrowed it for the weekend to verify trigger pull weights on my entire collection. I usually use my home made weight with the shown hang rod along with a few Match Kings as needed to break the trigger. This thing works great. The rifle shown with a factory tuned trigger done by the very talented me broke clean ten times in a row at 2.4lbs. Might have to buy me one.

Why not go for the Lyman digital trigger gauge for 1/10 that price? It will measure down to 1/10 of an ounce, and will give averages and such across a string of trigger pulls.

Now you tell me. I could have saved the company $550. The assembly took 70 lbs. to activate...within spec. I doubt that Lyman could have measured it. Why buy? I got access to this one any time, or my weight works well, too.

Obviously oldrifleman, you do not work for the same set of engineers that I work with...badly over paid and seriously underworked although I do not think they have ever worked, in fact I question whether
they even have degrees in engineering that they claim. Now any engineer that can pay waaaaaaay too much for a scale and the photos do not indicate any kind of ISO traceable calibration sticker on it....well lets just not go there.

Yep, it has a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable sticker on the back but the certs are a cost optional item. No got. You would think for 600 bucks you would get a crumby piece of paper with it. I returned it back to work today. Got all my triggers weighed and they were all real close to my numbers using the steel weight method. I am a happy camper.
