The deal with the new 25X and 30X scopes from Leupold
I just got off the phone with Laura Goetsch with Leupold. ([email protected])
She is using this scope with out issues at chickens and so are many others. I delivered one to a friend here in Little Rock this morning, he did not have an Issie with it focusing at 40 meters. He felt like there could be issues with someone who's ocular setting differed from his / factory settings. I addressed this with Laura and she said ocular setting can affect the A/O. She mentioned this should only cause an Issie on the "extremes" such as all the way in / all the way out.
Here is the deal, these scopes are set for 40 yards on the "bottom" from the factory, Leupold will work with any customer that has an Issie with their scope / eye settings / anything else for free of course. Period. This means if for any reason the scope will not focus down to 40M chickens for you, Leupold will MAKE it. This is a silhouette scope, that is what it is designed to do, and that's what it is warrantied to do.
Please contact me if you have other questions or to order one.
Thanks,
Chicken

I'm happy - thanks for your attention to detail, George!

Thanks for the update, George. Assuming this snow we're getting today doesn't interfere, I might be getting my 30x on Saturday and will report back with how it focuses at 40 meters. I am also getting a 50-foot adapter to use in the garage for practicing, but the longest distance I have to practice there is 11 or 12 meters and the 50-foot adapter is supposed to cut the focus distance to about 1/3 of what it was. I'll probably just deal with it being a bit cloudy in the garage if the scope will focus clearly on chickens without the adapter. If I have to send in the scope anyway, I'll probably get it changed enough that it will focus clearly at 11 meters with the adapter on.

....keeps going
Well, thanks for the vote...
This Leupold deal just will not die. I took (2) of them to the range on Saturday, a 25 and a 30 .... No way they go down to 40 yards... the 25X is REAL close at 40 Meters. I could see paint, I could see #'s on a target board, but not 100% of the way there. Greg focused his ocular and said his inproved and got real close to 100%...??? I have some people working on it from Leupold and will report back.

Don't stress, George, it's bad for your shooting. Y'all will get it worked out and I'll wait.
