SPRING REGIONALS AT BENTON GUN CLUB

Post by GTS »

The Benton Gun Club will be hosting 2 regional matches, back to back, on April 21 & 22. We will shoot two 40 round HP matches on Saturday the 21st, and two 60 round SB matches on Sunday the 22nd. NRA Gold, Silver & Bronze will be awarded as well as class awards for each match. There will also be a special aggregate award for qualifying shooters who shoot in all four matches. We don't want to bite off more than we can chew this first time, so entries will be limited to 32 shooters for the HP match, and 48 shooters for the SB match. Entry fees are expected to be $55-$60 for each day of shooting. Lunch each day will be included in the entry fee. Entry forms will be posted on the Benton Gun Club web site as soon as plans are finalized and we receive NRA approvals. I don't know if this has ever been done before, but I think it will be a real hoot. I will be posting more info as it becomes available. I hope to see as many of you as possible in April.

Amen to Evelios comment, especially when it comes to NRA fees with regard to registered tournaments. Greg, hope the match comes out well for you, a little too far away for me to plan for sure right now due to some changing events here at home but I will vouch for the great matches that have been held at the Benton range and the really nice group of shooters with Greg and company!

Greg, Thanks for the info and the match. How about the location of some hotels etc....we may be in an adjoining state but it ain't gonna be a morning commute. By the way....your fees are perfectly fine and I hope your club covers its costs and makes money.

Thanks for all of the positive responses. With regard to hotels, we are in the process of inquiring with the local establishments about a special rate for the match weekend. Once the program is available we will have all of the information we can gather listed with match directors, hotels, maps, and general information, as well as contact numbers for all of the above. While this ain't our first rodeo, having hosted several state matches and a few regionals in years past, each one is a new and different endeavor, and as such, has its own unique set of challenges. Just bear with us a little longer and we will get the information posted to this site as well as the Benton Gun Club web site. bentongunclub.org

Thanks again,
Greg

Already marked the calender and will try my best to make it there. Any chance of this becoming an annual event? We need more high power shoots in the south. I'll be looking for more details when you get them.

Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again!

This is awesome, it would still be a haul from south florida but closer than anything else I think available. Can't make it this year, but it'd be great if this turned into a yearly thing!

Greg, when you say "two matches", do you mean two matches per gun?

I want to make it to your match but I have to figure out if I can handle your match and Pe Ell back to back one weekend to the next.

Trent,
I should have been a little more specific in my original post. Yes, there will be two 40 shot HP matches on Saturday, 1 HP rifle and 1 HP hunting rifle. Likewise, there will be two 60 shot SB matches on Sunday, 1 SB rifle and 1 SB hunting rifle.

Dee,
If all goes well and we don't run out of volunteers, I hope to make this an annual event. As you mentioned, there are not enough HP shoots in our area.

Evelio,
I hope you make it to the match. Shooter or spectator is OK with me. Missed you in Winnsboro and Zwolle.

Thanks again to everyone for your positive comments and support.

malinois, check the ones Steve Wooster makes, some of the best shooters in WA and other states think they are as good or better than the ones made by Robert's Composites.
